JCB India, the country's foremost manufacturer of earthmoving and construction equipment, has marked a significant achievement by producing its 500,000th machine. Established in India in 1979, JCB operates six manufacturing units across the nation and exports its 'Made-in-India' machinery to more than 130 countries worldwide.

The momentous rollout event was graced by JCB's Group Chairman, Lord Bamford, at the company's Indian headquarters in Ballabgarh. Speaking on the occasion, Lord Bamford remarked, "India stands as one of the world's leading economies today. With a pronounced emphasis on infrastructure development over the past decade, we take pride in our contribution to this growth through our innovative machinery."

Highlighting JCB's longstanding commitment to India, he added, "Our investment journey in India began in 1979 with the establishment of our inaugural factory in Ballabgarh. India has now evolved into a pivotal market for us, significantly bolstering JCB's global supply chain."

The 500,000th machine, identified as a telehandler, epitomizes JCB's commitment to innovation in material handling. Offering a safer and more efficient alternative for material handling at elevated heights compared to conventional methods, the telehandler has been well-received since its introduction in India.

Deepak Shetty, CEO and MD of JCB India, commented, "The selection of the Telehandler as our 500,000th machine is symbolic. This equipment has revolutionized work sites, enhancing safety and productivity through its advanced design and engineering. As India continues its growth trajectory, we foresee substantial opportunities for the telehandler within the material handling sector. Moreover, our range of top-tier machinery, including backhoe loaders and excavators, will remain instrumental in driving India's infrastructure development."

With a diverse product portfolio encompassing over 60 different products across nine categories, JCB India has also set industry benchmarks in gender diversity. The Jaipur facility boasts 34% female representation on the shop floor, while the Vadodara unit, inaugurated in 2022, achieves an impressive 52% female workforce. Furthermore, JCB India's design centre in Pune houses over 700 engineers dedicated to both domestic and global projects.
